New Blog~Our Family News

We have decided to move away from carepages~which is more hospital related and move into a new blog spot. Hopefully I will be able to continue to keep everyone updated and include some more pictures of Fancy Abby. We have had a great couple of weeks since leaving the hospital at the beginning of June, Abby is really starting to learn how to use her arms and scoot around to get to where she wants. We have had so much fun watching Abby learn how to support herself while sitting and even learn how to get back to a comfy position if she happens to tumble. Abby has had a very busy social calendar, she has play group at the library Monday, ECI play group on Wednesday and Physical Therapy on Wednesday, she has Speech Therapy on Thursday, and Mrs. Gina our ECI coordiator comes on Fridays. Abby has finally been approved for MDCP~which is a long drawn out process through which Abby should start getting medicaid. YEAH!! This will surely be a blessing, and thankfully we should have it all worked out before I go back to school in August. Part of the process however is that we have to go spend the night in a nursing home so that they can assess the level of care that Abby needs. We choose to do our care ourselves so they will pay us for nursing hours that we will hopefully be able to use for daycare. If you have been around Abby you know that she really doesnt need any special care so I am not really expecting much from this, however the medicaid is what will really sav us. We have gathered all of our paper work and will be staying next Tuesday at a nursing home just west of Killeen, I think. This will be Abby's furthest road trip so I am just a tad bit nervous. However I am told this process is just a formality, I will be happy to have it done. We had a great fourth of July, spent some time with our neighbors, which is always fun. My task now is to figure out all the options I have with our new blog and work on getting pictures up. Love to all~ Mindy
